Lisa Schwarz to be Honored Next Week

Andover Community Trust selected Lisa Schwarz to receive the 2023 Opening Doors to Affordable Housing Award. She will receive this award at the Andover Community Trust Build The Dream Celebration, June 21 at the Oak & Iron in Andover.

Lisa Schwarz, Assistant Planning Director of Andover’s Planning and Land Use Division, shines brightly as a dedicated and accomplished professional. Lisa is the main staff person for the Town of Andover with all affordable housing measures. She serves as the staff liaison to the Affordable Housing Partnership Committee, Housing Trust Fund Board, and Economic Development Council.

With an impressive tenure as the Senior Planner since 2001, Lisa's expertise and commitment are unrivaled. Her passion for community development extends beyond Andover, as she actively serves as a Commissioner of the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission and member of 100WomenBostonNorth. She is a former board member of the Merrimack Valley affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, and Boston Children's Hospital CSG.

Lisa's professional affiliations, including memberships in the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association, reflect her unwavering dedication to the field.

Not only has Lisa made a profound impact locally, but she has also contributed on a global scale through her service as an education and environmental volunteer in the Peace Corps in Ghana, West Africa.

Lisa has a Master’s degree from University of Pennsylvania's Weitzman School of Design and a BS from Clemson University's College of Architecture. An Andover resident for 20 years, she and her husband currently reside in Newburyport with their two children.
